Privacy Policy

At Konnectd Design, we believe in transparency – whether we are sharing the BOM for a new build or explaining how we handle your data. This policy outlines what information we collect when you visit konnectd.design and how we use it to improve your experience.

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://konnectd.design. We are a design-led studio focused on 3D-printable items, electronics and modular hardware.

Information We Collect

Comments

When you join the conversation by leaving a comment, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string. This helps us keep the community safe from spam.

An anonymized string (a hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. You can find their privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your feedback.

Media

If you’re a fellow maker uploading images to our site (e.g., sharing a remix or build), please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors can download and extract that location data from images on the site.

Cookies

To make your experience more seamless:

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, you can opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. This saves you from re-typing your details next time. These cookies last for one year.
  • Accounts: If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie determines if your browser accepts cookies (contains no personal data; discarded when you close your browser). When you log in, we set up cookies to save your login info and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen options last a year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Our articles may include embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos showing assembly, Instagram feeds, or 3D model viewers). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited those sites directly. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with that content.

Who We Share Your Data With

We don’t sell your data. However, if you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email for security. Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically. For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (with the exception of your username).

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
