At Konnectd Design, we believe in supporting the maker community while protecting our original engineering work. All our digital files (3MF, STL, STEP) are provided under one of the following two license tiers.
Intellectual Property Notice
All designs, files, and documentation provided by Konnectd Design are the intellectual property of Konnectd Design. We protect our designs so we can continue to invest time into engineering high-quality, support-free projects for the maker community.
Personal Use License
Included with all standard digital downloads.
The Personal Use License is designed for individual makers and hobbyists who want to print and build our designs for themselves or as a gift.
What you CAN do:
Print unlimited copies for your personal use.
Modify the files for your own personal project.
Share photos and videos of your build on social media (Tagging @KonnectdDesign is always appreciated!).
What you CANNOT do:
Sell the physical 3D prints
Share, sub-license, or re-distribute the digital files in any format.
Commercial Use License
Available for purchase per model or collection.
The Commercial Lifetime License is for entrepreneurs and small businesses who wish to sell our designs as a physical product in their own shops or at local markets.
The license is non-transferable and tied to the original purchaser.
What you CAN do:
Sell unlimited physical 3D-printed units and finished products.
Use our branding (“Designed by Konnectd Design”) in your marketing.
The license is perpetual (lifetime) and does not require monthly fees or royalties.
What you CANNOT do:
Sell or distribute the digital files (3MF, STL, STEP) or any modified versions of the digital files.
Claim the original engineering/industrial design as your own.
Requirements:
You must be the owner of the 3D printer producing the units.
You must display a Konnectd ID on any online marketplaces to connect you to the license

How can I obtain a license for personal use?
Personal licenses are provided with models made available either for free or for a small fee, either from this website, MakerWorld or Cults3D. The Konnectd Design personal license aligns to the Cults Private Use license and the MakerWorld CC BY-NC-ND (Non-Commercial, No-Derivs).
Are commercial licenses offered for Konnectd Design products?
Yes, we provide commercial licenses and at this stage the commercial licenses are a one time fee for a lifetime commercial license per model. We are currently not offering memberships for models at this stage.
What are the restrictions under the standard license from MakerWorld or Cults3D?
Standard licenses allow usage with certain limitations to protect design integrity. Essentially personal use only and you can not sell the 3D print or share or sell the digital file.

If I modify the design, can I sell the 3D prints?
Under a Personal License, you may modify the design for your own use, but you cannot sell the prints. Under a Commercial License, you may sell prints of the original or your modified version, but you still cannot sell or share the digital files (modified or original).
Can I use your photos and marketing materials for my own shop?
Yes! Commercial License holders are encouraged to use our branding and product imagery to help launch their shop. We just ask that you include the “Designed by Konnectd Design” credit in your product description.
Does the Commercial License include future updates to the model?
Yes. Your lifetime commercial license applies to the specific model purchased, including any future optimizations or file updates we release for that version of the design.
I am a teacher/librarian. Do I need a Commercial License for my students?
No. Educational and non-profit use falls under our Personal Use category. As long as no money is being exchanged for the prints, you are welcome to use our designs in your classroom!
